ICY WINTER WEDDING INSPIRATION

This breath-taking winter wedding inspiration from Esther Funk Photography is the perfect way to kiss another long winter goodbye. Immaculately co-planned and designed by Feast & Festivities and Stone House Creative, this inspiration is complete with florals to make anyone envious, a stunning stationery suite from Jennifer Bianca Calligraphy, an unexpected fresh firewood backdrop from Firewood Manitoba and cocktails from Abiding Citizen. Enjoy all the beauty below and hear from Lauren and Emily on how it all came together!

More about the vision... Winnipeg is one of the five coldest cities in the world where winter is nearly half our year and many couples aren’t excited about the thought of getting married in the deep freeze. With an icy pastel palette in mind, we created a cozy atmosphere that would encourage our couples to forget about the chilly temperatures and embrace the romance that a winter wedding has to offer.

The rich blue linen from Planned Perfectly grounded our design by complimenting the masculinity of the freshly seasoned firewood that served as the ceremony backdrop from Firewood Manitoba. Once the candles were lit, the snow began to melt into the wood and provided the most amazing smell! The organic wreath and ornate navy rug tied in the rest of the details. The space felt cozy, warm, and natural.

The simple sheath dress from Jann Marie Bridal fit our bride's small, narrow frame perfectly. The sleek silhouette feels modern, and the lace detail at the hem is reminiscent of ice, so it tied in perfectly

While planning, you might have a tendency to think that more is better, but we wanted to show that focusing on a few focal details on our table scape while allowing other elements to play a supporting role creates a much more cohesive feel. Custom napkins, sugared fruit for the guests to snack on, and glass and acrylic accents tie the look together really giving it that icy winter feel.

If you have a large bridal party or want them to be able to enjoy the evening with their partners, then a sweetheart table is the way to go. We love how it lets you snuggle up together and steal a few intimate moments to celebrate and cherish on your wedding day.
