BUTTER YELLOW ANNIVERSARY
This butter yellow anniversary by Victoria Anne Photography is full of sweet moments. Liz from Styled Planning was the stylist for this shoot and she is sharing her tips on creating a memorable milestone shoot. Brides, I am totally loving this floral palette by Purple Peony Weddings + Events for an early summer soiree!
From Liz... Whether you're doing an anniversary, engagement, maternity or just because photoshoot with a professional photographer, take the opportunity to make it a bit more unique!
No. 1 Have your makeup done professionally. The pros know exactly how to apply your makeup so that it looks amazing in photos and will make your best features stand out. Maybe that means an amazing highlight that will catch the light perfectly or those extra lashes that will make your eyes pop or a bright lip to add some fun to your look! Not only will it look better in the photos, it will make you feel like a million bucks too.
No. 2 Choose your location wisely. Think about the lighting and what time of day will be best to capture the feel you're going for. If you're not sure, let your photographer make the decision for you to take the guesswork out of it! Don't let the season limit you from taking your photos outside. Even though it might not be ideal to be in the -30 winter weather for your whole shoot - run outside for a few minutes to take advantage of the natural beauty of the snow. If you've only had photos done in a studio, pick somewhere outside in summer or fall to add some natural colour to your shots.
No. 3 Use props! You don't have to spend a fortune to make your shoot that much more memorable and unique. Include your favourite blanket to stay cozy, a beautiful pitcher to display a few flowers in, an inexpensive bottle of champagne and glasses, or a favourite print or quote in a frame- even if you have to grab it off your wall! Adding a few things will help elevate the quality of your photos and make them more interesting and personal than your standard photoshoot. The options are endless so take the time to get a bit creative!
No. 4 Have a few outfit options. Keep your man in a classic dress pants and shirt combo but switch up your look with a few different dresses or outfits. You'll get some great variety and a totally different look in your shots without having to change locations a few times! Most importantly, choose something you feel confident in and it will help you feel that much more relaxed and happy during your shoot.
The couple was thrilled with their photos from this beautiful anniversary shoot and I was more than happy to put together a few ideas and amazing vendors to pull it off!
