MOSCATO + CHARM

Nothing better than a warm and sunny late September wedding day. Lea and Ian's day was simple and personal. It was important to them that their wedding was a true representation of who they are as individuals and as a couple. Choosing to forego many wedding traditions such as tossing the bouquet, the garter and cutting the cake and replacing those with some special moments of their own like having their furry friend with them, including a coffee bar representing their love of coffee dates and incorporating live music helped them stay true to their personal style. Pair that with a dreamy tulle and lace moscato gown from Bliss Bridal Boutique, asymmetrical flower comb and floral bouquets and 90 feet of lush foliage garland centrepieces from Stone House Creative, beautiful images by Brittany Mahood Photography and you have one gorgeous and inspiring wedding. Every detail came together seamlessly to compliment the rustic charm of Hawthorn Estates perfectly.

From the bride I chose a strapless ball gown style dress in moscato with tulle and lace detailing. The first store I browsed was Bliss Bridal Boutique. I walked in and was immediately drawn to one dress hanging amidst hundreds of others. This particular dress was only in Winnipeg on a trunk show for three days. As soon as I put it on, I knew this was the dress I wanted to get married in.

Ian and I met at our Church and our faith is the foundation of our relationship. Our Pastor led a Lutheran ceremony- though we did sneak in a little Beatles music! Hawthorn Estates is such a beautiful venue, both in side the barn and the surrounding area. We were so fortunate to have good weather so we could have our ceremony outside. We wanted a relaxed, romantic atmosphere, which we certainly got with birds chirping in the background and the warmth of the sun. Added to that was the most lovely acoustic music.

We were so blessed with the most amazing people to make our day come together. Lauren from Stone House Creative is the most amazing person and creative mind. She was so kind and flexible with us to make sure that every floral detail was spectacular. Rob and Tammy from Hawthorn Estates were so warm and welcoming. They were behind the scenes for every detail to make sure that the day ran smoothly. Brittany Mahood caught the best moments on film. Her photos are incredible and will make our memories last a lifetime! Our guests could not stop talking about our dinner! Urban Prairie Cuisine has such a creative and delicious menu.
